Here is a run-through of all the new Photoshop shortcuts I learned from this site. It will help me memorize them if I can repeat them here (and hopefully be of benefit to you if you ever need to remember them). The majority of these are just for CS5.
- Command + Space + Click and Drag Left or Right = Zoom in or out.
- Control + Option + Command+Click = Pick a color.
- Hold down H + Click = Zoom out to see the bigger picture, and when you let go it zooms in on the area over which you released the mouse.
- Control + Option + Click = Change the brush size and hardness of the brush.
- Hold down Shift = Draw straight lines.
- Hold down Command = Easy way to pick something up and move it, and then it switches back to the tool you were just using.
- Shift + Command + Space = Pan and zoom simultaneously in all documents that you may have open. Great for trying to compare images
- Tab = Hide (and show) toolbars unless you hover over the side. Nice for when the toolbars get in the way.
- Space and arrow keys = Gives a full-screen preview of files from Mini-Bridge.
- Command + Shift + < or > = Larger or smaller text size. Must be inside text layer.
- Command + Shift + K = Switch between lowercase and uppercase text.
- Option + Left and Right Arrow Keys = Tracking and Kearning. Tracking is changing the spaces between words, lines, or paragraphs (highlight that which you want to track). Kearning is changing the spaces between two characters (click between the two characters).
- Option + Up and Down Arrow Keys = Leading. Leading changes the distance between lines.
- Option + Shift + Up and Down Arrow Keys = Shift the baseline. Good for have one text layer but needing different positions for the text.
- Command + Backspace = Foreground Color.
- Option + Backspace = Background Color.
- Shift + Backspace = Fill Options.
- x = Switch between foreground and background colors.
- d = Switch back to Black foreground and White background (d for "default").
- Option + Click on Cancel = Reset any dialog box you may be in (liquify, etc.) so you don't have to cancel and then come back to it.
- Numeric Keys/Shift + Numeric Keys = Change the opacity/fill opacity. Finally! Very useful.
- Command + I = Invert colors of a selected layer or a layer mask.
- Option + Click on a Layer Mask = Mask view.
- Shift + Click on a Layer Mask = Disable mask.
- Option + Shift + Click with a selection tool over another overlapping selection = Keep only a part of a selection.
- Command + Option + Shift + E = Merge all visible layers to a new layer. Keep layers by making them all one Smart Object.
Beautiful.
