Unbound Bookmaker Editors
"Every writer needs an editor and every editor needs a proofreader."

Jamie Zvirzdin, Managing Editor and Creator of The Unbound Bookmaker

Picture
After graduating in 2008 from Brigham Young University in English and Editing, Jamie worked as a telecommuting editor for an online company while she and her husband lived in Italy and Belgium. During her time in Italy, she had significant opportunities to work with graduate students and helped edit, typeset, and publish their international journal and school yearbook. She started The Unbound Bookmaker in January of 2010. What began as a career in editing has expanded to include her interests in typesetting, graphic design, writing, science, and experimental literature. See www.jamiezvirzdin.com for more of her writings.

Jamie mostly enjoys scientific and technical editing: she is Coordinator of the Editing Office for Atomium Culture (a non-profit group based in Brussels that promotes research), editing articles and working with researchers to regularly publish articles in 17 major European newspapers. She is also a technical textbook editor for CRC Press. However, Jamie has edited, typeset, and designed various projects ranging from personal history books to shoreline conservation brochures to art pamphlets to political books to poetry and photo books. (See some Samples.)

Jamie, Andrew, and their son, Maxwell, live in various countries around the globe for Andrew's work. They currently live on Majuro Atoll in the Marshall Islands.

Sarah Jacquier

Sarah Jacquier
Sarah Jacquier graduated from Brigham Young University in 2010 with a B.A. in English. However, her favorite classes at BYU were for her editing minor. Sarah took several scholarly editing classes and discovered that it is her favorite type of editing. Sarah’s specialty is scholarly articles. However, she likes to edit just about anything, scholarly or not. She also enjoys indexing and hopes she has a chance to do more of that in the future. Sarah wants to be freelancer who works on many different kinds of editing, layout, and design projects.

Sarah was born in China, and she has loved to travel ever since she was a baby. She hopes to live in many different places around the world; she has already spent several years in different parts of Asia. In her free time, Sarah likes to read, play word games, watch old movies, and play the piano and flute. She currently lives with her husband in California.

Suzy Bills

Picture
Suzy has always been drawn to the world of words, and she eagerly completed BYU’s editing minor (graduating in 2004) as well as several editing internships. For over six years, she has been a full-time editor in the higher education industry, working her way up to her current position of Senior Editor. Suzy also finds time to fit in some freelance editing. While she has extensive experience editing scholarly and business projects, she also loves working on personal histories, novels, cookbooks, and informational articles (especially on health and nutrition).

When not editing, Suzy enjoys reading, running, playing the piano, dancing, learning about health and nutrition, and participating in community service.

Suzy looks forward to helping you with your publication needs!

Rachel Chase

Rachel graduated from BYU in August 2011 with a B.A. in English language and a minor in editing. She is currently working towards an M.A. in publishing studies from the University of Stirling in Scotland. Rachel has edited for the Political Science Department at BYU, the Linguistics Department at BYU, as an intern at Deseret Book Company in Utah, and Floris Books in Edinburgh.

Her specialty is copyediting and she has worked as an indexer as well, though she enjoys all aspects of the book-creating process. Rachel has worked with the latest versions of InDesign and Photoshop as well as Microsoft Word track changes. She enjoys living in Scotland, reading anything and everything she can get her hands on, and playing her harp.

Tyler Beckstrom

Picture
Since he was a young boy curled up on a couch and reading the latest Star Wars or fantasy novel, Tyler has loved to read. Following that passion, as early as high school he became involved in writing, editing, and publishing a creative writing magazine called Euphony. He went on to receive a BA in English with a minor in editing from Brigham Young University.

While attending school there, he became involved in The Leading Edge journal where he edited, researched, and wrote articles during an internship for the Internet Safety Project (ISP); he has performed a number of freelance proofreading and editing jobs on the side.

While Tyler enjoys the written word, he's also learned design and layout principles and is skilled in Adobe InDesign CS5 and Adobe Photoshop CS3 and CS5. His plans include being a father to his first child (born July 2012), applying to graduate school, and becoming an Instructional Designer.
